COVID-19 Related Accommodation Requests
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Notre Dame remains committed to offering an unsurpassed undergraduate education that nurtures the mind, body and spirit. The University also seeks to advance human understanding through scholarship, research and post-baccalaureate programs that heal, unify and enlighten.
All new and renewed requests must be received by November 20th, 2020. Students who apply after the November 20 deadline are not guaranteed a response prior to the start of classes for the spring 2021 semester, and should be prepared to attend spring 2021 classes in-person until their request for accommodation is resolved. See below for more information on these processes.
Renewing Covid-19 Accommodations for Spring 2021
If you received Covid-19 accommodations for the Fall Semester 2020, you will need to reapply for the Spring Semester. While we anticipate extending many of these approved accommodations, please note that your current accommodations were approved only for your fall courses and do not carry over to the spring. Thus, if you wish to receive accommodations for your spring 2021 courses, you will need to re-apply with Sara Bea Accessibility Services.
The deadline for re-applying for a COVID-19 related accommodation for the spring 2021 semester is November 20th, 2020. Students who apply after the November 20 deadline are not guaranteed a response prior to the start of classes for the spring 2021 semester, and should be prepared to attend spring 2021 classes in-person until their request for accommodation is resolved.
To submit your request for a COVID-19 related accommodation, please go to AccessND and select a supplemental request. As you complete that form, you will be asked to submit a request for either "Fully Remote" or "hybrid." Fully remote is a request to take all courses online for the spring semester. "Hybrid" is a request to take some courses online and others in-person. This request should be made based on specific factors for individual courses. As a reminder, under the University’s academic accommodations process, students may not request accommodations directly from their instructors and, instead, must submit their accommodation requests directly to Sara Bea Accessibility Services.
